Vidas360 in South America: Hiking, Yoga and Meditation on the Road
Traveling is one of the greatest pleasures in life. It’s an opportunity to leave your day to day routine behind and take time to explore outside of your comfort zone.
For us, this trip is amplifying our horizons in every way. It’s allowed us to cross over physical and mental frontiers while finding new ways of living and enjoying life. We will be traveling to 52 cities over the course of 210 days! We started in South America in December and so far we have visited 8 cities in Venezuela, Colombia and Peru.
Every place has it’s own people, culture and traditions that makes it unique and special. In each city, we have found different ways to nourish our bodies and minds, through the food, the natural scenery and the kindness of its people.
We hiked El Avila, a group of forested mountains that surround Caracas, Venezuela. El Avila is a national park with a high diversity of fauna and flora—500 different bird species live here! It is considered the “green lung” of the city.
In Colombia we traveled 180 meters underground to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. The underground temple is a former salt mine and is filled with religious art and notable for its architecture.
We’re staying healthy on the road by eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The fruit is so delicious, fresh and abundant…it is hard to stop eating them!
Exercise together for a little bit of fun! Group stretching before a hike at the Arvi Park in Medellin, Colombia.
Medellin city has focused a lot of resources on innovation. They are teaching their community how to take care of the city.
We are meditating in every place we feel a special energy. Recharging our hearts and spirits with awesomeness helps sustain us on our travels.
Getting inspired at our first surf class in Lima, Peru.
Sunset yoga at Playa la Estrella in Lima, Peru
Following the lead of wisdom and tradition in Cusco, Peru.
Made it to the top at Wayna Picchu, where you can see all Machu Picchu, 2,720 meters (8,920 ft) above sea level. Machu Picchu was something really special. The energy in this place is magical.
Every journey begins with the first step, you just have to decide when and where you want to go. What journey do you want to embark on for 2014? It doesn’t matter how far you go, it’s more about the attitude you bring along for the adventure!
