We did it! This month we saw another outpouring of kindness from our entire community on KIND Tuesday as thousands took to the streets to carry out the KINDING Mission to give a cold drink to someone working outdoors – so that we can give backpacks and school supplies to homeless children
Touched by the accounts that so many of you shared with us about how you made YOUR kindness count, we’d like to thank the community for your inspiring stories as best we can!
While it was tough to choose, we’ve selected 5 amazing KINDING Stories from individual KINDAHOLICS across the country who emailed us or posted to the KIND facebook wall to let us know how they brought a smile to a stranger’s face through the simple act of handing him or her a cold beverage (or two!) on a hot summer day.
We’re happy to have the chance to thank each of these KINDING story sharers with a KIND Cube as our KINDING to YOU, and more importantly, we are excited to celebrate the kindess of the entire KIND community by giving backpacks and school supplies to hundreds homeless children to prepare them for the new school year! Thank you all for continuing to inspire us and reminding us how good it feels to Do the KIND Thing.

My KIND story is more about my mom – she makes extra food each week to give to the patients who come to my sister’s clinic. And whatever extra food/beverages we have, she’ll always leave it available at the clinic. I don’t think my mom does it to receive gratitude – she does it naturally because she is compassionate, empathetic, and KIND to practically everyone! Sometimes we think she tires herself too much in her charity – but she thinks it’s an important part of life. Her quote is, “Having too much isn’t good. Share your wealth.” - Susan C.
Well I live in AZ and I think everyone knows how hot it is here. This particular day we were running errands so we filled a little cooler with ice and water and some snacks. After the errands were complete and we were heading home we saw a car on the side of the road with the hood up and a lady looking inside. We stopped and asked if she needed help and she wasn’t sure what was wrong so we took a look. There was no helping out, there was water coming from her spark plugs. It was only her and her daughter and they didn’t have a phone, so we offered them bottles of water and some of our snacks. She called her husband with our phone and we stayed with them until he knew exactly where they were. That was definitely a feel good day for me. - Lacy H.
I was just returning from the grocery store, where I had picked up a simple lunch, when I saw a homeless man, with a cardboard sign. He waved. I waved back. He looked so weary. I felt a tug to help in some way. I drove a few feet to the convenience store, picked up some protein bars, a cheese stick, pepperoni stick, and a 1 liter bottle of water. When I returned, I noticed that his face was very sunburnt from standing in the hot sun. I asked if he had eaten lunch, (it was after 1:00 pm), and he said no. I don’t know his story, but I know that I had made a small difference in his day. - Rhea
