Angelenos Do the KIND Thing to make Thanksgiving possible for seniors in need

Los Angeles proved just how KIND it can be this month, as scores of Angelenos came out to Do the KIND Thing to make Thanksgiving possible for hundreds of local senior citizens who are facing hunger. Thanks to the thousands of people who surprised someone else with an act of kindness on November 1st, we are partnering with LA Regional Food Bank to deliver nutritious foods to hundreds of elderly Angelenos facing hardship, so that they too can enjoy a happy and healthy Thanksgiving this year.

The KIND Food Truck turns San Francisco into Healthy Snack-Francisco!

San Francisco is now Healthy SnackFrancisco! The KIND Food Truck has wrapped up a full month of visiting the Bay Area and from Napa Valley to Downtown to the Silicon Valley, we found that this city is full of KINDAHOLICS with a love both for KIND and spreading kindness!

San Franciscans are notorious for their health-conscious lifestyles, so it’s no surprise that they naturally embraced the four-wheeled arrival of food they can actually see and pronounce. Locals including moms looking to spice up the typical lunchbox; fashionistas seeking a healthy AND purse-friendly bite on-the-go; and even ambitious mountain bikers requiring fuel for the long haul; found the answer to their snacking needs at the KIND Food Truck.

Outdoor snacking was at its best, as the peak late summer Bay Area weather meant warm sunshine and cool breezes – perfect conditions for stops at Google, Levi’s, Yahoo!, Yoga Journal, Chrisy Field, UC Berkeley, Fleet Week, The Ferry Building, SF Moma, Sausalito, Russian River Jazz and Blues Festival, Cheers St Helena, Rock Wall Winery, Larkspur Food Truck Crush, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Oktoberfest and many more!

Next Stop? The great city of Los Angeles! Make sure to follow us on Twitter for real time updates on the KIND Food Truck’s latest stops – look for the #KINDFoodTruck hash tag!

Texans Stay Cool (and KIND!) at the KIND Food Truck

Who said that being outside in July in Texas is unheard of? The Texas heat isn’t going to stop KINDAHOLICS – or the KIND Food Truck – from getting out there and being KIND this summer…to our bodies, our taste buds AND the world! The KIND Food Truck has arrived in Texas, helping Austinites and Houstonians alike cool down and take a much need snack break from this summer heat!

At Austin’s Barton Springs, the KIND Food Truck arrived just in time to “KIND” the more than 300 Texans anxiously looking forward to a jump in the refreshing springs (which average 68° year-round!) and at Memorial Park, we were on the scene to refuel the many brave warriors who were running, biking and staying active outside.

In true KIND spirit, the KIND Food Truck appeared for a friendly KIDING at a local peace rally taking place in downtown Dallas to promote harmony and acceptance – How KIND is that? We closed out the week with stops to local Whole Foods stores, where healthy foodies were pleasantly surprised to supplement their grocery shopping with complimentary tasty and healthy treats!

We continue to make our way through Texas and will see you in San Antonio next – Stay cool Texas!

Bostonians embrace the KIND Food Truck!

On June 24th, The KIND Food Truck rolled into Beantown and into the hearts (and hungry tummies!)of thousands of Bostonians.

The truck travelled all throughout Title Town, visiting City Hall Plaza, turning heads on trendy Newbury Street, and KINDING foodies at the Haymarket Farmer’s Market with free tasty and healthy KIND bars to keep Bostonians fueled under the hot summer sun! Veteran KINDAHOLICS and new KIND converts alike migrated to the truck’s window in two’s, three’s, fours and much more, announcing, “You just made my day! These are the best bars in the entire world!” We are continually humbled by the throngs of people who keep letting us know how much they love the message behind KIND and all that the KIND movement stands for.

(click the below image to view more pictures from the road!)

Boston proved their stars and stripes were strong on KIND Tuesday, July 5th, by greeting the KIND Food Truck in crowds at Copley Square to carry out the KINDING Mission to send a thank-you note to someone who protects them. Bostonians wrote personal notes of appreciation to soldiers stationed at local camps and turned their acts of kindness into what will be a homecoming celebration to remember for our troops!

As we prepare to roll into Denver, make sure to check for updates on the KIND Food Truck web page and by following @KINDsnacks on Twitter for realtime #KINDFoodTruck updates!

The KIND Food Truck made a presidential appearance in Washington D.C.

KIND took over the nation’s capital this past month, KINDING all throughout the district.  Capital Pride attendees, Chinatown visitors, Georgetown shoppers, and do-gooders at Dupont Circle flocked to the KIND Food Truck to with healthy appetites and KIND words – thrilled to receive a healthy and tasty snack, bounce to KIND beats and even get goofy at the KIND photo booth .

“Really? A sample? This is my favorite bar. I can’t believe this is happening,” one woman in Georgetown told us.  ”Oh this is perfect! We are traveling this afternoon so we’ll save it for our flight,” chimed in a young couple in Chinatown.

From Metro Center, to Arlington Courthouse Metro, and Farragut North, everyone was in on the action , making this another visit we won’t forget. Be sure to keep an eye on our KIND Food Truck Tour and Events website for more updates and our Twitter feed for exact Food Truck locations (@kindsnacks) as we head to Boston, the next stop on our KIND Food Truck Tour!

KIND Food Truck + Philadelphia = City (full) of KIND love (literally and figuratively)

The KIND Food Truck had a very exciting and busy last two weeks in Philly!  We visited the Westminster Mayfair Presbyterian Church Child Care Center in Northeast Philadelphia for our Big KIND Act, where we donated 1,000 books to the students and teachers;  we KINDED health-minded shoppers outsides of Whole Foods Markets throughout the area; and pulled up right outside of City Hall, sampling commuters heading to and from their offices. We even made a guest appearance at NBC Studios and headed down to the Navy Yard to say hello to our friends at URBN.

We were overwhelmed by the KIND love in Philadelphia. “I am in a fantasy right now. I’m a diabetic and running into you guys is like a dream for me. I’m in heaven,” one woman told us while parked outside of 20th & Market.  ”Don’t tell my wife,” a man at URBN’s Corporate Campus said, “but I am in love with these things!”Meeting fellow KINDAHOLICS  and introducing new fans to the brand has been an awesome experience and we’re looking forward to what our newest stop, Washington D.C., will bring.

Be sure to keep an eye on our Food Truck Tour and Events site for more updates and our Twitter feed for exact Food Truck locations (@kindsnacks).

The KIND Food Truck Says Farewell to New York City…!

After four whirlwind weeks, the KIND Food Truck is finally rolling out of the Big Apple. As we say goodbye to the bright lights of New York City and make our way towards Philadelphia, we want to look back on some of the highlights of our time here in the city that doesn’t sleep…but certainly loves to eat!

There’s no doubt that New Yorkers are an on-the-go bunch! Between working hard and playing hard, it can be difficult to get your hands on the right KIND of snack that’s both healthy AND tasty. This is where the KIND Food Truck entered the scene, KINDING commuters on their ways to and from work, catching them just when those cravings for less healthy options like “street meat” and “breakfast bagels” hit and helping them fill UP without filling OUT. From Rockefeller Center to Time Square, Central Park and back, delighted New Yorkers flocked to the KIND Food Truck exclaiming “we love your bars!”

And it wasn’t all just about eating…we discovered that in a celebrity-packed city like Manhattan, folks are hardly camera shy! New Yorkers could not get enough of the KIND Photo Booth – and were thrilled to send funny photo greetings to their friends… as well as a free KIND bar! All in all, kindness was in no short supply and Manhattanites proved that they know how to Do the KIND Thing, crowding the truck on KIND Tuesday to receive colorful tulips to carry out the KINDING Mission!

We’ll miss you, New York – but here’s looking forward to the KIND Food Truck’s next stop…Philly, here we come! Make sure to watch for where we’ll be by headed next by following @KINDsnacks on Twitter.
