KIND Fruit + Nut bars come to us from Peaceworks, a not-only-for-profit company that “engages people in opposite sides of regional conflicts in shared ventures to create great consumer products.” (The company donates a portion of profits to groups fostering peace or helping people, such as the tsunami relief fund.) Politics and proselytizing aside, the bars taste great. Made in Australia with whole nuts, moist dried fruits, grains and fruit juice concentrates they offer satisfying flavor and mouth feel. They also pack about 3 grams of protein and 5 of fiber in a bar. Available in 10 flavors, including Almond & Apricot and Walnut Date, the bars cost $1.49 each at Baron’s Marketplaces
