Bringing foster children home

Overview
What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?

The Dream Center's Foster Care Intervention program works with the Department of Children and Family Services to provide basic needs to families who are at risk of separation due to poverty-related issues. In many cases, the only thing standing in the way of an open case being closed is the simple addition of a safe crib or dresser. Foster Care Intervention provides these simple, but often expensive, needs for families so that they can stay together.

How will you use the $10k?

A $10,000 grant would help Foster Care Intervention provide furniture for 7-10 families over the next 6 months, helping them either reunite or avoid separation.

What impact do you hope to make?

Of the roughly 25,000 children in foster care in Los Angeles County, many are separated from loving families due to poverty-related issues. The Dream Center works to help these families reunite or avoid separation by providing basic necessities, such as furniture, diapers, and groceries.

Other Details

Foster Care Intervention will provide 7-10 families with desperately needed furniture items such as cribs, beds, kitchen tables, and dressers over the next 6 months.

Every month, KIND supports one cause with $10,000
