Overview
What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?

In developing countries the water women and children drink is often unsafe, containing bacteria and parasites that cause constant illness. The lack of safe water has locked many women into a cycle of poverty. It’s a serious issue of injustice, one that The Her Initiative is working to solve.

The Her Initiative is providing access to clean water and specific health & hygiene curriculum to women and children in the developing world. This is an initiative to spread kindness and to get women here supporting and empowering other women across the globe.

How will you use the $10k?

In 6 months, a community in Mexico will have access to clean water and health & hygiene education. The following budget breaks down the three parts of our Holistic WASH Model:

Business Management Training for Local Leaders: $1500
Water Purification System Installation and Project Construction: $6000
Health and Hygiene Leaders Training and Curriculum: $1500
Monitoring and Evaluation: $1000

What impact do you hope to make?

The Her Initiative is working to bring clean water and health and hygiene education to 250 communities in Mexico by 2020. This will impact over 200,000 people and allow them to not just survive, but thrive - physically, socially, and economically. By partnering with KIND Causes, we will be able to fund one of these 250 projects completely.

We are on a mission to empower women to live healthier and more holistic lives through education and access to clean water. Clean water doesn't only mean something safe to drink, it means job creation, less money invested in visits to the doctor, and a chance to live a safer life.

With the $10,000 we receive from KIND Causes, we will be able to implement one project in Chiapas or Oaxaca, Mexico. The funds will not only cover the cost of one water purification system that serves an entire community, but also provide business management training for local leaders and health & hygiene education for women and children.
