What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?
Our mission is simply...to empower youth and inspire meaningful, lasting change that will create a positive and sustainable impact on our society.
We are a non-profit that cultivates leadership through active and individual team training. Our youth leadership program teaches young people at a critical life stage to practice, honor, acceptance, compassion and respect in order to create sustainable, positive change among peers, family members, society and the environment.
We teach youth to NOTICE opportunities to improve situations or create new ones. We teach them to CHOOSE 'on purpose' to stay passive or get involved. We then teach them to ACT on what they first noticed and the desired outcomes the chose, and see the difference made.
How will you use the $10k?
As a non-profit we provide scholarships to students that are often not able to participate in programming not provided through school funds. We work with multiple school districts to bring our youth leadership programs to their school site and/or bring the students to camp. This $10,000 would be used for students from low socio-economic backgrounds to bring them to our youth leadership program in March. This program is a three day, two-night camp for middle school students that teaches empathy, respect, tolerance, self-efficacy and self-confidence.
With this $10,000 we will be able to provide scholarships for 65 students.
What impact do you hope to make?
As humans, when we are told something it is had very little chance of sticking.
When we do something, it has a better chance of assimilation.
When we act on and we feel our own emotions, and those of others, we have the best chance of sustainable outcomes.
All It Takes utilizes experiential education so our participants do and feel the impact of our curriculum. Our students learn to recognize and embrace their individual strengths and weaknesses; the strengths and weaknesses of others and learn to build personal and social tolerance for all traits in all people.
Youth create a dynamic shift in their ability to relate to others, offering a new paradigm of personal responsibility for the well-being of self and others.
