What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?

The mission of this campaign is to help people around the world to realize that every word we speak has immense power and that words do matter. Every word we use will have an affect on others and by speaking hope and using positive words we will be encouraging and strengthening others. Singer Songwriter Kris Thomas said, “Everyone that we meet could be facing a battle that we know nothing about. That’s why it is so important to be kind and excepting of others and use your words to inspire and encourage, not to inflict pain.” #ispeakhope is appealing to people around the world to take to social media in the effort to join our campaign as well by writing on their hands words of encouragement and post to social media with the #ispeakhope

How will you use the $10k?

Teen Recruiters has four teens that sit on our board of directors not to mention teens that do our photography, social media and website. We would use the $10,000 to travel and help spread the message of our campaign and the effects of bullying. People need to realize just how powerful words can be. We are working with several celebrities and would love to have our teens have the opportunity to travel and spread their message around the world. Positive thinking and positive words can change or possible save a life. That's why we choose to #ispeakhope

What impact do you hope to make?

The children and youth in our communities will be effected by our message and that's who we target. Life isn't what it used to be. Years ago you could escape a bully or negative words on a playground or from school but now with the internet, it follows you into your home and into what you have found to be your safe places. We want to empower these children and show them that words do hurt and bullying isn't just physical. Saying a kind word or performing a kind gesture for someone could do so much as save someone's life. The fact is we never know what someone is facing in life or how down they may be but we can spread a little kindness in the hopes that it will save a life and pray that they will in turn do the same.

Other Details

We would begin our journey at the beginning of summer and spend the next three months traveling with the children and teens that we work with to create community events in surrounding towns sharing our campaign message and working with local media to help spread our message. It gives a great platform for journalism majors, children that love photography and so on. We would also need to have our lead designer Brenda West age 16, who comes up with all of our logos get t-shirts for the traveling teens.
