Overview
What is your cause and how will it make the world kinder?

Many blind and visually impaired children, adults and families reside in our region. They need glasses and eye exams, but many are of low income and cannot afford them. Our nonprofit Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind & Visually Impaired will provide the glasses and exams at no cost to them. Blind and visually impaired in West Virginia will experience a kinder world because of our project...

How will you use the $10k?

The $10,000 will go toward fully funding our initiative for six months. It would provide free eye exams and eye glasses to all those in our service area. Our budget for the project is $14,000 for one year.

What impact do you hope to make?

All the blind and visually impaired children, adults and families in south western West Virginia who need eye exams and glasses will benefit from this initiative that the Kind Foundation helped us fund. No more will financial status hinder a child, family or adult from gaining access to eye exams and glasses.

Other Details

We can officially kick off this program either mid year or at the beginning of 2018 in January. We will assess the need to gather the amount of people in our region we will serve and impact with this project. We will hold various board and staff meetings to ensure our budget is solid and we have a good plan in place to carry out this worthwhile project. We will then implement it and beginning impacting those in need in our service area.

Every month, KIND supports one cause with $10,000
