say hello to health coach Quinn Asteak
By Quinn Asteak
Hi, I’m Quinn Asteak, a former fashion stylist turned health coach, healthy cooking expert and sustainable farming educator. I’ve been living in New York City for fourteen years, but make a run for it to the country every chance I get!
Day to day, I wear a lot of hats (literally and figuratively)! As a health coach, I work with clients who have an unhealthy relationship to food, as an educator, I make videos where I geek out about agriculture and I post tons of healthy recipes on my blog.
I Do the KIND Thing by being a good steward of the land and educating people about where their food comes from. I’m the head of programming at North Brooklyn Farms, a pop-up urban farm in Brooklyn that transforms vacant lots into viable green spaces. I also lead public programs at the prestigious Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, a non-profit whose mission is to change the way America eats and farms.
When I’m not coaching, cooking, consulting or teaching I’m training for my next big hiking trip! A few months ago, my dad and I hiked our way through Patagonia. When we returned, the rest of the family was so jealous that we decided to plan another, even more rigorous hiking trip as a group. In a couple of months I’ll be taking off for Peru and you better believe my pack will be full of KIND bars for fuel.
Over the next few months I’ll be sharing stories and what I’ve learned from living a double life as a jet-setting entrepreneur and bonafide farmophile. I can’t wait to share!
